Entertainer's Residence

The aim of this project was to open up the space and make into an entertainer's residence while combining the antique furniture pieces.

The brief was to open up the space and make into an entertainer's residence while combining the antique furniture pieces.

Firstly with this home we removed a main wall to open up the kitchen and dining space. By cutting the kitchen wall in half and making this the ‘island bench’ with a beautifully finished ‘London Grey’ Caeserstone, with this we achieved another seating/service area.

Another major part in the makeover was changing the flooring throughout. From outdated tiles to timber look vinyl flooring, this medium is a great affordable, no mess, easy to install product that finishes like the real thing.

A design layout problem when entering the home is you can see the laundry from all areas, front door, kitchen, living and hallway. To overcome this we designed the laundry to be an extension of the kitchen. We used the same finishes including beautifully handcrafted tiles - as seen on the TV show The Block.

What we did

Handcrafted Splashback

In this project we used a handcrafted tile for the kitchen splash back and laundry. These can both be see as you enter the home, so using the tiles in both areas created a seamless flow. 

Bench top or Meeting space

Using Caeserstone's London Grey bench top as a feature in the home we've created an inviting space for all to enjoy! Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining made the world of difference for this Leanyer home.

Wallpaper

Pressed tin wallpaper was a first of its kind to hit the Darwin scene. It is presented beautifully here, a bold statement.
